The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board has announced recruitment for 25 sweeper and chowkidar posts in the District and Sessions Courts, Delhi. Applications open online on 13 October 2026 and close on 11 November 2026.
According to Amar Ujala (Jobs), DSSSB issued advertisement number 05/2026 on 9 October 2026. Selected candidates will work in Delhi's district and sessions courts.
Posts and pay scale
The recruitment covers 10 sweeper posts and 15 chowkidar posts. Both posts have the same pay scale of ₹5,200 to ₹20,200 and grade pay of ₹2,000, according to Amar Ujala (Jobs). They are non-gazetted posts.
The number of posts is temporary and may increase or decrease based on the department's requirements, according to Amar Ujala (Jobs). No separate posts are reserved for differently-abled candidates and outstanding sportspersons.
Eligibility and age limit
Candidates must have passed the 10th standard from a recognised board or hold an equivalent qualification. The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum is 27 years. Age will be calculated as on 1 June 2026.
Candidates from the other backward class category get a 3-year relaxation, scheduled caste and scheduled tribe category candidates get 5 years, and differently-abled candidates get 10-15 years, according to Live Hindustan (Career). Educational qualification must be completed by 11 November 2026.
Application fee and how to apply
The application fee is ₹100 for general, other backward class and economically weaker section male candidates. Scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, differently-abled, ex-servicemen and all women candidates are exempted from the fee, according to Amar Ujala (Jobs).
The fee must be paid online through SBI e-Pay only. Once paid, the fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Applications must be submitted online only. Applications sent by post or any other medium will not be accepted.
For the sweeper post, select post code 46/26. For the chowkidar post, select post code 47/26.
Selection process and exam pattern
Selection has two stages: a written exam of 100 marks followed by an interview of 15 marks. Final selection will be based on total marks from both stages.
The written exam will have 100 objective-type questions. The duration is 120 minutes, and eligible differently-abled candidates get 160 minutes. Each wrong answer carries a penalty of 0.25 marks.
The exam will be bilingual in Hindi and English. Questions will cover English, Hindi, general knowledge and arithmetic with 25 questions each, according to Live Hindustan (Career).
Unreserved and economically weaker section candidates need at least 50 percent marks to qualify. Other backward class (Delhi), scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, differently-abled and ex-servicemen candidates need 45 percent. Shortlisted candidates will be up to 10 times the number of vacancies for the interview stage.
